The Kawasan Falls is a three-stage cascade water and pools from mountain springs located in Cebu, Philippines. The falls are part of the Kawasan River which is also part of the Matutian River canyon.
They were formerly called “Manayupan Falls,” after the barangay in where they are situated. The name was changed to “Kawasan” in the 1980s, which means “cascade” in the Cebuano dialect. To accommodate tourists and visitors, they have also constructed and renovated bridges, houses, and walkways surrounding the falls.
Visitors can access and swim in the three-stage cascade of the falls. Most tourists go for swimming activities at the first stage of the falls, while the second cascade is a small falls and is popular for canyoneering activities. The third cascade is a dam.
The falls’ water is pure and transparent, displaying a touch of turquoise blue, which comes from the pristine water of the nearby forest. This attraction is well-liked by both tourists and residents of Cebu. Those seeking adventure can partake in activities such as rafting, cliff diving, or swimming alongside the falls, where they can unwind in its peaceful and calming atmosphere.
